ETHCON to be broadcast on YouTube

The lineup for ETHCON Korea 2020 has been disclosed. This year’s ETHCON will be held online for two days starting from Dec. 19. Anyone can enjoy it for free through ETHCON Korea and Join:D’s official YouTube channels. #Vitalik Buterin and other well-known representatives as speakers Local Ethereum communities voluntarily organized the ETHCON Korea 2020 to encourage developers to share their research results. The topic of this year’s ETHCON will be “Explore the Network of Opportunites.” Many interesting topics will be discussed during the event including Ethereum 2.0, Decentralized finance (DeFi), and Non-Fungible Token (NFT). In the opening event for the ETHCON Korea 2020, Vitalik Buterin, the co-founder of Ethereum will be there to make a speech. He will speak about the technological changes and future plans for Ethereum 2.0, which was newly launched earlier this month. Kim Min-soo, CEO of NFT Bank, will make a presentation with the topic of “Convergence of NFT and DeFi,” and Tim Beiko, product manager of Ethereum infrastructure developer ConsenSys, will talk about “EIP-1559,” a proposal to improve Ethereum. On Dec. 20, the second day of the event, Cho Yeong-hwi, the co-founder of HUNT, will talk about the “Problems and solutions when designing DApps.” Lim Wan-seop of Zkopru plans to make a presentation titled “Anonymous remittance scalability solution using the zero-knowledge proof and optimistic roll-up.” Jon Jordan, general manager of public relations at DappRadar, a dApp data platform, will talk about “Ethereum DApp 2020” and Soon-Hyung Jeong, CEO of Onther — a blockchain developer — will discuss zero-knowledge proof virtual machines for for Ethereum-based Layer 2 Blockchain. On the second day of the event, the winner of the ETHCON Korea Hackathon will be announced. The winning team will be awarded 7 million won, 5 million won for the second place, and 3 million won for the third place. A total of 1 million won will be given to teams that had excellent ideas on specific topics such as privacy, scalability, games and DeFi. “Unlike other regular Blockchain events, ETHCON is an event for Ethereum developers,” said Ryu Young-hoom, Chairman of Ethereum Korea Preparatory Committee. “It is the opportunity that developers, planners, and designers can share their struggles and insights they experienced while developing their own service. ETHCON will offer a good time full of sessions with technical and interesting topics.”
